Congratulations to all of
our Junior Olympic swimmers for a great meet this weekend !
The Marlins are very proud
of how all the swimmers conducted themselves this weekend and of
the support from the parents. The great swimming and good
sportsmanship showed why the Marlins are considered "The Best
in the Midwest"
And there was some great
swimming this weekend.
We had too many noteworthy performances to mention them all. Here are a few of the
highlights.
The Boys 10&U 200M
Medley Relay of Justin Grender, Tindar Cyr, Ben Hayes and Josh
McDonald went 2:23.64 to break the State Meet and Ohio Records
previously set in 1970 by the Cincinnati Pepsi Marlins relay of
D.Smith, J.Frentos, J.Bradshaw, M.Harrington. This was also
the Marlins record.
The Boys 10&U 200M
Freestyle Relay of Justin Grender, Nick Pfeifer, Josh McDonald and
Ben Hayes went 2:07.07 to break the State Meet and Ohio Records of
2:11.35 (2007 Sycamore Flying Fish). This also broke the 1980 Marlins
record of 2:12.09 (Miller, Legeay, Tobergte,
Lichtendahl)
Ben Hayes broke 2
individual Marlins records for 10&U Boys Long Course.
His 33.62 in the 50
Fly beat the 33.73 set by Scott Tanner in 1995.
